Where is the fuel pump relay located on my 1980 240DL?? Also, Why spark to dist. one day and not the next?? Thanx!!

If I remember rightly, on my '80 240 there were two relays with aluminum cases mounted on the firewall just above the passenger's feet. Remove the felt cover and there they are. One relay is the fuel pump relay and the other is called the "Main" relay. They are interchangeable. In later models, these two relays are combined into one.

On my 1982 it is over the hood release knob, connected to the wiring directly.
