Steering wheel vibration 900

I own a 94 940 that has been well maintained. The car has developed a vibartion in the steering wheel. I have had the front end aligned but the problem is still there. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It happens at all speeds over 25 mph, Thanks

There are a number of possibilities, check the FAQ under front suspension. How many miles are on the car? How bad is the vibration? Do you also feel it in the seat of your pants or just in the wheel? Does it vary in intensity depending on speed or when you apply the brakes?

It could be worn suspension bushings, warped rotor, unbalanced tires, etc. There is a smorgasboard of possibilities until you narrow down the symptoms.

Check all your bushings, joints, tie rod ends, etc... I had the same problem on my 1991 744. Replaced everything under there while I was doing the front struts (all parts changes were long overdue, yours may not be) Used poly wherever possible. Night and day difference. According to IPD and other brickters far more knowledgeable than me, the control arm stay bushings are a long known culprit for the symptoms you are experiencing.

I purchased a 4 corner bushing and bearing kit with shocks for $500.00 from FCP Groton.

That could be a tire balance problem. You could have lost a weight at some point or the tires might not have been balanced properly when originally fitted.

Maybe your tires need changing? Look under the car and shake the tire left and right. It should not vibrate too much. Also check the ball joints.
