water pump 200

My water pump is leaking. the leak is coming out from the bottom. I tryed replacing the gasket but it still leaks. there is no play in the blads and where the pully is. Is my water pump bad and how do I test. My 245 needs to run again.

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda 200

You mean you had the old one in your hands and you didn't replace it?

Unless you knew the old was nearly new, shoulda replaced it.

Now you know?

Good luck...and by the way, all of the preceding was said with complete empathy for your situation.

cheers

The chances are good that the bearing seal is shot. There is a little hole on the bottom, look with a mirror. That's where the coolant comes out when the bearing seal fails. Get a new one. There is a debate about which one, other than Volvo dealer, is best to get. In the aftermarket, summer good, summer not.

Good Luck,

Bob
