Oil Pressure Sender 200

My oil pressure sender was leaking at the block. It's the type that works with the guage. My question is this...there were 45 degree elbows between the unit and the bolt that goes into the block, do I really need these elbows? It seems to me that they are just more opportunities for leaks. Thanks

Chuck,
You don't need the adapter elbow, there is a brass washer that comes with the sender bushing that prevents leaks. The VDO sender needs a 1/8 npt-27 to 14mmx1.5k bushing to fit a B-230f engine block.

I'm in new territory here. Is the sender bushing the part that screws into the block?

Yes,the sender screws into the adapter bushing, and that screws into the engine. It's a small brass fitting.
