240 GL Quits Running 1984

When im driving the engine will just stop running,no sputting like when out of gas,more like when the coil wire comes off.I then pullover wait anyware from 2 to 60 min then it will start,sometimes it will keep doing this all day then it will be ok for a few days,im getting gas but sometimes no spark from the coil
I have taken it to a mechanic when i had to get it towed they could not find anything wrong! it never quit when driven.I wish it would just stop running then i would be able to trace?Hope someone can help!!

    Also check the 25 amp fuel system fuse on the driver's side inner fender. A bad connection of cracked holder there could cause this symptom.

    A replacement hold can be had from any parts retailer for $3.

      Thanks for your reply Zee Im getting fuel but when she quits Im not getting a spark from the coil I dont think its the coil because it happens when its hot or cold

    Sounds like fuel pump relay to me, almost exactly the same symptoms as I had. Are you sure you are getting gas when this happens.

      Thanks for your reply sandkv,yes Iam getting gas but not a spark when she stops
