Running rich causing cold starting problems? 200 1980

Hello everyone. I was wondering if my car is running rich, if that could cause cold starting problems. Because before i took it to my local Volvo dealer I took it to this import mechanic and I just remember he said that he made it run rich so it would crank over easier until I put the new warm up regulator on it. Well i put a new warm up regulator on it and i for got that the fuel is running rich. I now think that might be causing my starting problems. And when it does start, i need to feather the gas pedal or else she will stall.
Thank you all,
Ian Schilf

Hi,
Sometimes when you have hard start maybe is the sensor plate, clean it and I must be centred in the venturi, and do you inspect your oxygen sensor? and how is the gasoline system pressure.
It wope this works,

Edwin

The situation you describe is perfect for a LEAN mixture. It would not
do that if it was rich. Are you sure the warmup regulator is good?
