Hello everyone.
I was shopping at a Supercenter Walmart last night and they had a Mobil 1 Oil sale.
5 quart container for $17.88 This is a savings of over $7 for 5 quarts at everyday price $4.99 each. I picked up six containers. I will be picking up another six later today.
I live in Houston, Texas but the sale should be nationwide. I believe this is the legendary "two times" a year sale for Mobil 1 that we have all heard about but rarely seen.
All weights were on sale. All products were new. (ie. No old formula Mobil I)
PS. On a different matter, this particular store no longer carried Rotella ELC coolant. I'll have to check if other stores still have it.

At my walmart in Salisbury MD, that same 1 gallon bottle was for $9! It was not on display and I asked the stock guy to get some. Price check said 9 bucks. I think someone made an error, I told him I'll take all the 10w30 they had!;-)

Not a sale. It's been going on for quite a while. It's just a convenience pack that they've been selling. I first noticed around the beginning of this year. :)

Where do you live?
I have been going to this particular Supercenter Walmart once a month ever since it first open 1 1/2 year ago and this is the firt time I have seen it on sale. They always carry the 5 quart container and six quart box, but never on sale.
PS. I spoke to guy working that area of the store and he told me he set up the display at the begining of the this month and that the "sale" was ending at the end of the month. If $17.88 for 5 quarts of Mobil 1 is your normal everyday price, then consider yourself "lucky."

haha chris, we get your point, didn't have to post it 4x ;-)
anyways, i was upstate NY around the Albany area and it's been $17.88 give or take a few cents the last few months. i'm downstate down back in NYC, and I will check Walmart to see how the prices are.
If the prices are bad, next time I'm upstate in Albany visiting friends I will stock up on a few containers and bring them back. :)

The difference in Wal-Mart pricing is apparent if you shop several stores. Germantown, WI Wal-Mart sells Mobil 1 quarts at $3.70/qt (for the sake of example) and the Greenfield Wal-Mart sells them for $4.29/qt.
The Franklin, WI Wal-Mart sells quarts of Pennzoil 10w30 synthetic for $3.37/qt, but the Germantown store (and most locations) sells them for $4.39/qt. It's a steal at Franklin, but not at Germantown.
Gurnee, IL sells PZL synthetic for $3.37/qt and Mobil 1 at 4.29 or whatever it is. But Gurnee always has a lot of the 5-quart Mobil 1 oil change specials as well. They seem to have them quite often, in fact, while Greenfield doesn't have them too much. But Franklin seems to.
I guess it all depends on which Wal-Mart you shop at.

Man, i should take the 15 minute or so drive to gurnee to get oil now!... I usually get it from Sam's Club (vernon hills) though, at like 21.98/case (that's about 3.66/qt), still a little cheaper at that wal mart...
