I will be restoring a 1981 262 Bertone soon. Has anyone a clue on how to remove the side rear 1/4 windows? Also is there a way to remove the black trim along the top of the door windows and the black trim that runs vertically on the door.Without damaging it of course. Thanks in advance,Nelson.

The "opera" windows push out with the glass still in the rubber seal, but gently, like from a corner first, from the inside of the body to the outside. The 260 Hayes manual has an explanation of how to remove and install them, installing is a bit trickier than getting them out. You use a wire or cord, and pull the cord to pull the rubber seal edge over the metal lip. Look in a manual. I've done it, and it was certainly a puzzle until I read the manual. I have info at home on how to get that trim off, I'll try to post it here tomorrow.

I looked at info I have that I got from someone else on removing trim and it is not all that clear. If you would like, I can e-mail the two pages I have to you, but I will need your e-mail address as this site does not work right, for (e-mail), with my computer. I will bring them to work monday and send them then if you want them.

Bucth, you can email me at nel621aol. Say what year is your cooupe? do you still have the V6? Color combo? Mine is an 81 two tone gold and brown. I will be changing it to all gold with euro lights and 2 color turn signals. Almost all of the nuts, bolts and brackets in the engine compartment have been replated with the original gold cadmium plating. anything that was white was plated white zinc. all the hoses were either cleaned and polished or replaced.all the aluminun was cleaned and polished with 00 steel wool, not too shiny.Still many parts to put back together just to get it started and to the paint shop.whew! Thanks for your input,Nelson.

I have a 1980, baby blue with black leather interior. I put a fuel injected chevrolet V8 with a 700R4 4-speed auto OD trans that came out of a '92 Trans Am in it rather than maintain the problem V6. It is a fun car with the V8. I forgot to bring pages about removing trim to work, but will e-mail them to you tomorrow for sure. Pics of my car before and after conversion are in picture gallery on this site. You have to look through many pics to find them though since they are not all in one place. Attaching one pic here showing V8 engine.
