hestitation when passing on highway 700 1989

My 1989 740 turbo(139K km)is running very well and smoothly generally speaking. Lately, I have had intermitent problems when driving on the highway at passing speeds when the turbo engages. Also, this has happened at slower speads albeit occassionally.Any help would be appreciated.

The easiest thing to check is for cracks in the intake somewhere between turbo and intake manifold. That is a classic sign.

There are other things that could be the problem like low fuel pressure (lean mixture) but I think the intake is where the problem lies.

Is this happeneing when you hit the gas hard?

Yes it does. Only when turbo is on and when I accelerate hard like when i am passing on the highway.
