240 turbo fuel pump 200 1983

I have a bad front, main, fuel pump and was wondering about the interchangablity of it with other volvo fuel pumps. I have a 1983 240 turbo. I have access to a 1985 760 turbo pump. Is there fuel pressure different enough that I couldn't use it? Will it attach with the same bracket? What would happen if the pressure wasn't right? Who could I contact to figure this out? Trying to save 200 some odd dollars. Any other comments on the subject would be much appreciated.

K jet and LH jet systems use different fuel pumps and pressures. I had good luck with used pumps from the pick and pull for my turbo. $15 and I am running right again. It sure is easy to hook them to a battery for a brief look and listen. They can really throw the residual fuel though.

"They can really throw the residual fuel though."

You write this as if you are a man of knowledge. Any special brand of cigar to go with that?

Won't work, different fuel systems with different pressures

New pumps aren't $200 and this is something that you don't want to go cheap on anyway.

I consider a 240T a near classic so efforts should be made to keep it correct. (a non-turbo beater maybe a kluge would be OK, but still not a fuel pump)
