High Mileage Badges....

After an exhaustive search .... I have finally tracked down a "Real Live Person" to talk to about High Mileage Badges. The addresses printed on the forms no longer handle the badges ... they wait until they have a bunch of them and then forward them to

Volvo High Mileage
PO Box 935
Langhorne, Pa
19047-0935

The number I finally got to talk to a "Real Person" who knew something about the badges was at

Volvo of North America
Rockleigh, Pa
1-800-458-1552
ask for "Customer Service" and then "Personal Shopper"
I THINK I talked to "Irene"

    High Mileage Badges....

Just to keep you informed .... today I received several medallions ... so far I am up to 900,000 with the exception of the 200,000 mile one .... I guess they are still looking for the 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 mile ones ... haven't been too much call for them I would imagine ... just about to turn over 1,517,000 miles ... I checked the mileage I accumulated in the last 12 months and had put on 18,335 miles ...... now considering that the odometer was not working for 4 years with that kind of driving that would add another 73,300 to the displayed total and that would make me 1,590,300 at this time .... Oh well, I KNOW I'm not gaining on Irv .... but that Makinen guy in Finland is catchable !!

    Hey Brett!
Are they going to send you a 1.5 million mile badge?

Sure hope so George .... time will tell ... think they thought I said 150,000 miles ... instead of 1,500,000 ... they DID send me the 100,000 medallion ... the outfit that was handling it ONLY handled up to 500,000 .... Now apparently Volvo of North America in Rockleigh, Pa is handling it ... Just went out and checked ... odometer reading is currently 1,515,951 miles .. In the last year from Sep 12/01 to 02 ... I put on 18,335 miles. Met up with Irv this summer in Shelburne, VT but his P1800 was aboard ship headed for his 5 week tour of Europe so got a look at his new C 70 .... NICE CAR !!! Which were also his first words when he saw my 122 .... guess that's the "IRV seal of approval" .... Even got our pictures taken together with "the Old Girl" ... eventually when I get around to updating my website, that is definately one of the pictures I will be posting.... also at that get together, the crew from VCOA and ROLLING were there and took some pictures .. so I'm hoping that we might get to see something in an upcoming issue of ROLLING ....
