84 Turbo Thermal Control Valve 200

As I unbderstand it, the Thermal Control Valve (Mounted under intake runner #1) is used for the older COntrol pressure regulatlors that have a vacuum connection. Mine does not as 84,85's have the new altitude compensating regulator. To my question, I have swapped the manifold for a nice B23 intake manifold and need help on running all my vacuum lines. Do I need to run any to and from the themal control valve. IF so, which ones? Also, I have the distributor and the big hose from the charcoal canister connected to the TB nipples, is this correct?

I appreciate any help in this matter.

    Turbo vacuum lines 200

If you want the pressure differential switch to work correctly you need vacuum hoses on the blue control valve. Hood one up to a manfold port and the other should go to the differential switch on the firewall. As for the distributer there is a port (nipple) on the side of the b23/230 intakes that is used on my 89 for the distributer, so thats where I have it plugged in on my turbo. It seems to work ok.

The spot where you have the vacuum for your distributor is not correct. It should be connected to the small vacuum line on the throttle body. This will provide proper vacuum advance signal. The spot where you connected is used for the pressure regulator for the fuel rail. It provides a signal that changes when you accelerate but not a graduated signal like the distributor needs. The distributor
should be teed into the small line that runs from the throttle body down the the charcoal canister. Hope this helps your car run a bit better.
