girlfriends 240 has so many codes! 200 1989

ok, I got 1-2-1, 1-1-3, and 2-2-1 out of the diagnostics unit. The car has been getting really bad gas mileage. However, the check engine light is not on, nor is the car having any problems with idle or pickup. It really doesn't feel like anything is wrong, minus the poor gas mileage. The AMM was just replaced a year or so ago, so I don't see how it could be that(the warm air intake hose has been off the whole time). My guess is the O2 sensor, but I thought i'd ask you knowledgable folks what the most likely problems would be. I don't believe there are any vacuum leaks. Any ideas? She doesn't like spending huge amounts on gas. thanks in advance

Is the Check Engine light actually functional? The 113 and 221 codes are supposed to light the Check Engine lamp. Look into that.

First clean ALL the connections to the airflow meter. Then look at the O2 sensor wiring which could theoretically have a break in it. If not, it might be new O2 sensor time.

Also look into the possibility of a leak in the intake air hose.

Not sure about her case, but the '89s did have the horrible 561 ECU. Maybe she has one of the last of those? A 951 might fix things.
