B230ft engine timing marks and crank 700

I have a 1989 volvo 780 turbo. I would like to know some of the mechanics of this engine. HOw many times does the crank turn in relationship to the cam. If I set the cam at the mark is it possible to have the crank at 180 Degrees out of phase if I have it lined up on the crank mark. Thanks in advance...Leo

"HOw many times does the crank turn in relationship to the cam..."

Two.

"...cam at the mark is it possible to have the crank at 180 Degrees out of phase..."

Not if it's timed properly.

However the opposite IS true. That is, if you align the crank timing marks, it's possible that the camshaft will be 180 degrees out...
