Wheels for 200 series 200 1984

Tried posting this in the Aftermarket section and got one good response but no others, so I'll try my luck here: I'm looking for some wheels to fit my '84 242. I can't seem to find any that fit my car that also look good and are lightweight, (i.e. lighter than stock). I also need them to wider, (preferably 15 or 16x7). I am mostly looking for performance gain, but I dont want anything ugly or cheap looking ruining my beautiful Volvo. Everytime I find a good wheel, like the TSW Hokenhiem Rs or the ASA JS1s, the idiots discontinue them. Panasport racing wheels are out of my price league. Any suggestions? Help me, or I might just have to settle for some 200 series turbo wheels that dont really make that much difference. Thanks in advance. -Logan

I may have some 16" Hydras available - relatively cheap, too. I'll know in about a week (10/29 or 30) if my neighbor wants to let his 17" Volans go. I put a set of Hydras on my 940 and they do make a noticeable difference. Let me know if you're interested - jwsocw@earthlink.net

Any of the 16" wheels from the 850 turbo series cars would look good, come from the original source, and aren't too heavy. They're also readily available, here and on ebay. The RWD cars need to mount wheel adapters to space the hubs out an inch or so for clearance. I personally like the 16X6.5? 5-spoke 850 T wheel. You might get lucky and find a set of 17" 850 T5-R wheels- they'd be cool too.
Remember that SMALLER diameter tires and wheels help your car accelerate faster- that's what the autocross drivers run. Depends what you're looking for out of your car.
