stalling at lights and sounds weak 200 1983

I just had a new fuel pump put in, and a tune up. One week later, while driving on the highway - when I went over 50 mph all warning lights came on. When I released my foot off the petal, the lights would dim and eventually go out. Scared the living daylights out of me.

My mechanic is a pretty good drive from home, so I stuck it out until this weekend. I just drove locally. Yesterday, it started doing a huck-a-buck and felt weak (a little hesitation)... and then it just gave out at a red light. It did start up again (at times after a couple of attempts)..., and brought me home. But my nerves were shot.

I am taking it in this weekend. Can anyone tell me what you think it might be?

Oh.. when it did stall, I jiggled and tightened the fuses..and it started up.

Help!

See if a full tank of fuel cures it. If so, the in-tank hose was botched or is bad. if that is not it, it sounds like a bad in-tank, or main fuel pump, whichever one is not the new one you mention. Don't overlook the relay, although these metal ones are better than the plastic case relays.
