fuel injection identification? 200 1982

I have a 1982 GLT B23E [non-turbo]. I think I have a continuous injection [CI] system installed but I have never been certain about it. The CI components in the Bentley manual look very much what I have on the car, but Bentley says that CI was installed on turbo cars. Can anyone help me confirm what system is installed?

If it is a B23"E" as you say, the E stands for Mechanical (CI) Injection.
For example B230F The F stands for Electronic Pulse injection.

Really? My B21FT has mechanical injection, so do most B21F engines. (nmi) 200 1982

The Bentley covers US spec vehicles only. Yeah there are one or two mentions of the B23E engine (not available in the US), or the B23FT (available only in the 84 760 Turbo).. but it's still primaril a US spec 1983-1993 240 book. Canada got all sorts of engines that the US did not get (like the carb'd B21A and the high output B23E). In fact, the B23 was available from at least 1981 through 1984 in Canada, the US spec B23 was only available in 83 and 84 stateside. AFAIK all B23Es were fitted with mechanical injection.

As for K-Jetronic versus LH-Jetronic.. the electronic injection will have a metal rail on top of the intake manifold, with the injectors in the manifold.. and short connections on the injectors. The CI setup will have long fuel lines (metal on the turbos, probably rubber coated stiff plastic on the non turbos) going to each injector. The CI injectors are in the head, right below the intake manifold. The turbos will have an air intake box, with a cobra looking thing on it by the passenger's side. The non turbos, I believe, have the intake stuff on the driver's side.

If your fuel injectors have only a black tube and no wires going to them, then it is CIS. If there are wire plug in's on the injectors it is LH. Many ways to id it.

Hmm, follow hoses from injectors and see if they all lead to a black metal thing that is sort of remindful of a distributor underneath and to the rear of the intake manifold. If so, it's CI.
