I would like an early 90's wagon with the best interior I can find.

Well, with my 1989 740 16v sedan, i get as low as 11 MPG recorded in the city, and as high as 19 MPG recorded for highway.... it's not good by any means... I have to change my fuel pump relay (i was having an intermittent no/hard-start problem and finally it quit completely)... maybe that will help some.... but for a 2.3 automatic, it produces reasonable acceleration for not being turbo..

Well, (European) logic would have it that any 760/960 is more luxurious than any 740/940. However, I understand that the 940 SE in the States was quite a car with a lot of extras as standard. A 760, whether V6 or Turbo, should have climate control (as opposed to ac), leather, cruise control, electric sunroof and power seats.

Depends on what your definition of luxury is. I have a 1990 745ti. It has all the nice bits that I find luxurious like power windows and door locks, leather seating surfaces, etc. It does not have power seats which can be problematic and expensive to fix in the 740's and early 940's. The 760 tends to be more luxurious and the 740 tends to be sportier. I think the 1990 745ti was the benchmark for Volvo wagons but ten I'm biased. Hope this helps. My 2 cents worth.

I believe that signifies that it's a 740 (T)urbo (I)ntercooled... not to be confused with the older 740 (T)urbo models (no intercooler) or the Turbo Diesel models (And from what i guess, (T)urbo (D)iesel (I)ntercooled models in europe)

There where no 740/760/960/780 Turbos without intercooler, there were 240s without intercooler and the 940 LPT did not have an intercooler; and indeed in Europe we have intercooled turbo diesels, like mine.
