just got ordered my K & N drop in :) 200

I just ordered the k & n drop in filter for my 91 245. Only 34 bucks too.. so I got a nice deal.. and it was free shipping, so it is all good. Hopefully this thing will give me the 50+HP it promises ...hehehehe.... or just give me like 1-2 MPG more.. or maybe even like .5-1 MPG... still be happy

You should get some noticable power increases from the drop-in K&N. After installing mine I noticed my 240 pulled much better at mid to upper RPMs but seemed to lose only a slight amount of power at low RPMs.

I plan on seeing a MASSIVE increase in performance from this... and umm... hehehe... my new V15/ phase 1 n/a cam that will be coming for thansgiving....

Does anybody have any TRUE facts that the k & n filters let in more dirt? I possible will be doing a engine oil analysis, since I will want to see how long I can stretch my amsoil.

I don't have any, but I've seen some stats thrown around as far as flow figures. Stuff like the stock 240 air filter flowing enough air for over 400hp, flowing more air than a stock air filter for a late model 350 small block.. stuff like that. I'm in no hurry, if you're looking for better breathing, well it depends on the car. Maybe start with a turbo exhaust setup, if it's not a B230, go for the B23/230 intake manifold, etc. Start with the air filter, I would not.

You might consider an oil analysis towards the end of your normal interval to see how much dirt is in your oil. As monitored by Si. Over 10-20 PPM could be a concern.

Did you order this at K&N's site? Also - this isn't the CAI is it? Just the style that works with the stock airbox, am I right?

trade off. Maybe you'll go faster, but I doubt it. the 240 airbox/filter is already oversized for the possible airflow.

And think of all the chunks that K&N will be allowing into your engine!
