745 versus 765??? 700

As far as differences, is the 760 Turbo simply more luxurious than the 740 Turbo, or are the differences more than that? I like the handling of my 745 Turbo, but am considering an upgrade to 765 Turbo. Will it be similar?
thanks in advance
Joe

As was pointed out to me when I looked at a 760T for my kid, the differences are deeper. They may have virtually identical external sheetmetal, but the firewall is different. See the 7xx/9xx FAQs and the "buying a used 7xx/9xx" section. Swedish electric gizmos don't age well, and there are a lot in the 760.

Try it, of course, but I think the 740-940 handles better, the 760-960 rides better.

I would say that you would do better changing the few bits that are different. The cars are otherwise identical, it is even possible that in the States, the 760 Turbo was softer than the 740 Turbo, as the 760 is a luxury car. A 760 would have more standard equipment and Nivomats, chrome door handles and rubber door strips (those that stop you from scratching other peoples cars in car parks), chrome lists around windows and a chrome grill, also had different alloys, pull handles on the inside door trim and door pockets with soft fabric cover. It would have ACC instead of AC but with the turbo so heavily loaded already, I would say just change the few things that differ. I have made my 740 turbo diesel a 760 turbo diesel for a few bucks, apart from the AC which is coming.
