Does anyone know how to fix the gas tank cover door. I was washing my 740 and it flew off. The plastic hinge broke. Is it a dealer thing?

It is Volvo part number 1380664, and has a list price of $6.21 US today. I just bought one for my 1987 745T.

$5.00 at the dealer. Push the little pins in on the old one and it will come off and put the new one on.

I walked into mine as i was filling the tank and the same thing happened. I just glued the plastic hinge base back onto the body making sure that the two plastic nipples were seated right in the holes in the body. I used epoxy and left the door open for a day as it set. it seems as good as new
