Additional odometer gear pictures needed 200 1989

Does anyone happen to have additional pictures (besides the ones available on Jeff's website) of the odometer gears from an electric K10042 or K9800 speedometer? I'm looking for a picture of the plastic gear and the tan tooth gear that sits/rests on it.

Thanks,
Eric Staufer

Eric, I don't know about Jeff's website, but you're welcome to take a gander at my junk collection. 600KB image left this full resolution in case you were gonna count teeth or something. I hope you didn't want to know which ratios these came outta...

      Art,

Your picture was *exactly* what I needed to see, thank you! Unfortunately, I couldn't tell by Jeff's photo because the larger plastic gear was resting in place, and I needed to see the gear taken out of the unit.

Now, I've got a question for either you and/or Jeff. On the back of the larger plastic gear, I can tell by the picture that there is a colored substance that forms a "tooth-type" gear. *IF* that substance hardened up and a "tooth" breaks off, wouldn't that affect the functionality of the odometer?

If that's the case, that's my known problem and the gear I need to make my odometer function again... as I have a new tooth gear, capacitors and motor from an ill-fated odometer repair by a shop. After 10 months, I was finally able to get my money back from the repair and I still have the gears/parts, but I, firmly, believe that's the source of my problem, after inspecting the unit last time I removed it.

      Regards,

Not sure what you mean when you refer to a tooth type gear, but it sounds a though you are very much into what you are doing. You wanna see the other sides?

Absolutely! Zap the otherside my way! :-) I'll explain in the next message.

          Many thanks!

OK, I expect this will be a shot of the backsides: another 600KB image

Ahh.. perfect. You see on the white plastic gear, that yellow "sun-shaped" substance? A part of the 'tooth' had gummed up and broke off on my speedohead. I'm *assuming* that since it is broken, it'll cause the same problem as if the smaller tooth gear had a missing tooth... the odometer will stop functioning.

If someone else can verify that, then that's the piece that I will need to fix my broken odometer. If that is my problem, can I send you a few bucks for that gear?

              Thanks again for the pictures!

              Regards,
              Eric Staufer,

    Eric or whomever else,

If you find additional photos somewhere, I would be more than happy to link them on my site if it would help others. Just let me know. Sorry I can't help you beyond the photos on my site.
