Type F vs. Dexron ATF in a BW55 200 1981

I'm planning to do a tranny fluid flush on my 81 245 (BW55 auto tranny). The car has 175k miles on it. The transmission was rebuilt 75K miles ago. After going through my past service records, I realized that the local Volvo dealer used Dexron in my last tranny service (around 50K miles ago). According to the manual, this tranny calls for Type F fluid. The transmission has shown no problems, except slow shifting (upon startup) into reverse and 1st on a cold day.

Should I be concerned that Dexron has been in there for 50k miles? The rebuilt tranny has no drain plug... I assume that type F is still called for in rebuilt BW55s. Should I replace with the recommended type F? Should a dealer still be liable for a mistake that occurred 5 years and 50k miles ago?

Thanks.

    Type F vs. Dexron ATF in a BW55 200 1981

When I called Mobil about switching from Type F to their synthetic trans fluid they told me not to do so. I then told them that it was for the power steering unit and they said ok. So I would say no. And yes the dealer should be responsible if you can document what was put into the tranny. I say flush and hope nothing was damaged.
