Possessed horn? 700 1990

The horn on my 1990 745 sounds off all by itself when I make a right hand turn. Just a little beep and that's it. It works fine when I actually press the horn buttons. I assume I've got some bare wires inside the steering column that come into contact when turning. Any advice or things to look for before I tear the column apart? Thanks

Mine too. Same year as well....The dealer took and said there was nothing wrong with it and nothing they could do.

Well, I'd do a little more research. My 1990 740 has an airbag, and on most cars the horn is integrated into the airbag wire/reel. In that case a worn spot going to ground on that reel/wire could inadvertently deploy the air bag.
