1989 240 automatic trans -- first overdrive light came on -- checked fuse -- it was bad -- replaced it - cured -- 2 minutes later -- fuse burns out again - decided to try it again -- cured --- weeks go by -- overdrive light on again -- now fuse is fine -- but changed it anyway --- still light is on -- before i pull the radio out in search of the relay -- any other choices -- ?

andy.......sounds like the relay...it's located just to the left of the glove box.....easier than pulling the radio........sometimes, if you thump the dash just to the left of the glove box it'll jar the relay enough to get it to work...you can re-solder it or get one from a junker........as far as blowing the fuses.......dunno....but it is on the same circuit w/ the rear window defroster......tho' this may not be related to the defroster...if you didn't turn on the defroster then it's in the o/d circuit...........sounds intermittant.....possible exposed wire to the overdrive solenoid???.....good luck.....j.
