Virgo vs. Draco on a 200 200

I know that Draco style alloys from the 700 series are the same size (6x15) as the Virgos used on 200s, but their offset is slightly different, 25mm for the Draco and 20mm for the Virgo as far as I know.

The question is: Would Dracos work OK on a 200? What difference does 5mm make?

Thanks.

The 5-spoke 700 rims are hot looking on a 240! Or on a 700 too. I really like them (shameless opinionated post).

Hey,

That's what it's all about. Thanks to you and all the others for your help.

Basically, the wheels will be tucked in towards the middle of the car 5mm on each side. Now if they were 15mm offset, they would be 5mm wider than stock on each side. Peace

The Dracos fit fine and look good on a 240. It's kind of a different look. A friend ran them for years on his 88. No problems.

The 5mm makes very little difference. My 245 with 760 alloys and 205-60s would rub slightly on the right rear with a full load, a trailer, and a very sharp right hand turn. Stiffer rear springs fixed it.

I have read (Danish text: http://www.volvo240.dk/main.asp?f=4&Id=29&ForumID=4&Showsub=31) that 20 mm offset is standard for the 240, but that rims between 15 to 25 mm will work ok. I would think that tire size makes a difference too: Even if Dracos with 195 mm wide tires will fit, Dracos with 215 mm might not.

Erling.
