I came across this on ebay. Although it is celcius, it still has me very intrigued and I think would liik really cool in my car. $54 seems pretty high for this part. Do any of you come across these at the junkyard?

you can get a new sending unit from egauges.com for $22 instead of $34.

i have not seen them in a yard before, only heard of them and seen them on eBay. very rare and useful in winter for keeping the brick on the road. $54 is reasonable if it includes the sender unit for a used one. I saw some new ones on the web going for about $150 on a gauge site.

$54 is just for the gauge, he is selling the sender for $34. Have you EVER seen a °F gauge like this? Still, from what I've seen, under $100 seems like a good deal for the set.

It is a rare gauge. Rarer still, is the fahrenheit version. You have to get teh sender with it or you are SOL. If you really want a goody, wait for the digital to be offered. It is rarer by far than the analog variants.
Also, the surest way to find an ambient temp is to pull it from an early 80s Canadian GLT non-turbo. Stock gauge, replaced the turbo gauge on those cars.

I have seen those gauges o for $100 on eBay. Make sure you get the wiring harness and the sensor.
