Yes, they are air vents. They are the same type you see on large trucks. Not practical for normal use but essential for rally. They can be tilted up in front for max air, up in back for venting or closed in the cold/rain. Dust is less up at roof level which is why we mount them up there. The rest of the glass (except for windshield) is replaced with lexan and in not moveable. Saved coule hundred pounds in glass, mechanism and inner door panels. We are not the west coast car you see. Bill Malik runs a really tricked out 242 that includes a one-of-a-kind head from Sweden, a 5 speed sequential transmission, coil overs plus other goodies. Bill may be the best RWD driver in the country. Rumor is he is building something REALLY INTERESTING for next season. Speculation is it's AWD, turbo and of course, Volvo. John Lane runs a 262 turbo. V-6 with twin (I think) turbos. Power beyond belief. The school bus yellow 740t is another well developed Volvo in Rally. Was owned by Karl Jardeval (sp?) but he has sold it. SCCA rules prohibit 20 year old cars from entering National events (ProRally). That's why Bills car has 2 doors and a '93 front clip. We are doing that this winter for next season. Check us out in NE US and Eastern Canada next season (CARS and SCCA ProRally)
