Funny main beam light 700

What would cause the dash light for the high beam to be on when the high beam is off and off when the high beam is on, i.e. reverse to the intended action?

Do you mean - When the headlights are turned on then the complete dash illumination is off or vice versa.

Or are you talking about the high beam indicator light in the middle of your dash being on when the high beams are off (or vice versa)?

My apologises. Main beam is UK English for high beam. Yes, that is what I mean. Light for high beam is on when high beam is off and vice versa.

Since I had the car, yes, but I only had for a few months and it has done over 300k miles so how long it has done this, I do not know.

hi,

they are wired completely differntly...

the indicator light goes via the dimmer etc....suggest someone connected something wrong....

i would simply insert a relay on the indicator light to reverse its function...

simple, cheap, elegant and no risk...
