What other 16' Volvo wheels will fit my 960? S90-V90 1996

I have a 1996 960 <45k miles.

Anyone know what will fit? Does anyone know what the offset is for the 960? And or if I can use any of the ones from the FWD Volvos, and if needed where could I get the adaptors?

Thanks

92 thru 94 960 wheels had a 25mm offset
95 thru 98 960/S90 wheels had a 43mm offset

both have a 5 x 108mm pattern

Any of the wheels off of a FWD Volvo will work, except for wheels with 4 lugs, which would be the 93 850 and the S/V 40. So you have a wide selection! 15-18".

Beautiful car, BTW, and a great 240! I just took a look at your page. Do you know if Prime still makes anything for the 240?

I pretty sure Prime hasn't offered anything with the required offset since 2000.

So if I use the FWD wheels, wont I still need a spacer?

nope, the 960 from 1994 on uses the same offset as the FWD cars. (43 mm).

It's only if you want to put the FWD wheels onto your 240 that you would need the spacers.

For spacers, this place seems to be a popular source:

I plan to buy some from this guy for my 240:

What is the offet of a wheel? Does it mean that wheels with the same offset are interchangeable between any models? Even between different makes?

This site has a good description: http://www.usacomp.com/Offset.htm

"Offset is the distance from the center line of the wheel to the wheel bolt up face (the part of the wheel that contacts the car's hub when you attach the wheel)"

If the mounting hole pattern and the offset are the same**, it is fairly likely you can interchange the wheels regardless of brand. There may however be some differences, if my memory serves me correctly, for instance some German cars us a bolt that has a ball shape on the head, some Japanese cars have bolts with a flat head bolt with no bevel at all. These are rare though.

**In some cases you may be able to use spacers to correct the offset but this is less desirable.

I recently bought some aftermarket wheels that were supposed to fit my Miata and they do except that the lug nuts only turn a few times before they torque up and so I'm going to have to change out the studs with some that are slightly longer.
