I also have an '87 wagon. It appears that you re-routed your rear door wiring to avoid the inevitable breakage which occurs when they are routed thru the hinges. Can you tell us more about that?

Jamie
ps--We did this as soon as we got the car so that everything was functional so I don't remember all of the details bc I had help from my father, but hopefully the pic will help

Do you have one in Red???
Or what about a red interior??
Actually - I really want a Red one, low miles, with black leather interior, cruise control, 5-spd, and GT wheels, as well as a full tint job - no rust, low miles, 3rd seat. tow package, power tail lights, 2-way glass, electric headlights, and Bilstiens all around.
Then you would get my attention.
The last time I got defensive about someone posting a for sale on the BB, I was reminded that we are all here at our own choice.
No one pasted a badge on anyone (except the site mgr.) and that I should not be so anally retentive...
So this time I will play along - just thought I would have a bit of fun w/ you...
It is a nice looking car - one question - I have driven a 244 (86) once that was an automatic.
Are they all really gutless off the line or was that one just a dog??
I love my 4spd + O/D.
Hope you sell it soon.
One fair comment though - (just couldn't help myself) what if everyone with a car for sale posted it here - would the board become clogged and unruly and congested with cars for sale, or would more of us tune in because it would be a grewat place to see what is selling and for how much??
I check e-bay often just to see what is going for what $$$.
What about a "brick-bay"?
Any comments???

Goldy,
My 90 244 slushbox is faster from 0-50 than any 240 I've driven - manual or slush. I've never driven a non-modified 240 with as much pep off the line. That was one of the reasons I bought it! In fairness however, I think a manual would walk away from it above 50. This is my first slushbox and it took some adjustment!!!
I also liked the color scheme - white with a blue interior. Red with black leather sounds good too.
Thanks for your help the other day!
Jim

sent my last reply before I saw your last...goldy :) red w/red that would be sweet! Ha! I thought I was the only one who checked ebay (almost daily) just to see the different bricks out there. I saw a silver/green 240 advertised in the Indy paper and haven't seen one of those in person or on ebay yet! To answer your hypothetical...yeah, I would actually like a brickbay mb...the classads section really does seem dead but maybe it is effective, I don't know --just posted over there! To asnwer your other question: you are correct that most 240's aren't especially quick (to put it nicely) off the line! At least every one I have driven, but I see modifieds discussed that I would definitely like to drive and see how they take off. My car cruises great at 70-85mph range and passes on the interstate no problem...
i'm just rambling now...

This is the 2nd time in as many days that you have posted and add soliciting your car. I'm sure everyone would appreciate it if you used the clasadds. Those who know/use this site know where to look for used cars.

Look, I'm not trying to be a jerk, just simply stating that there is a specific place for classified adds, before you know it, one out of every 10 posts will be someone trying to sell old bessie, and I fear that this board will lose its tech savvy members that keep me coming back for info I cant find anywhere else.

Yeah, well sorry I offended you so much by posting my car twice on the message board. Honestly, I thought my subject line on the first post was a bit confusing. Anyways before wasting more precious space on YOUR message board I will end. BTW I just posted a classified and will happily pay the expense that wasn't the reason...I just wanted maximum exposure bc I lurk A LOT on this mb, and not so frequently on the classad section. Thanks for the defense shovelfxr!

I'd just like to point out I really dislike the classified ads. They're awkward and really don't turn up anythin useful for me... and so an occasional post advertising something doesn't bother me.
But if you're looking for better places to advertise, try autotrader (they're free), try IPD (again they're free). Rusty has some forums, they might host classifieds as well.
Too bad your car is so far East, I know someone who would be interested at that price if it were in the SF Bay Area.
If you register and use your login I belive you can go back and edit posts including subjects.
Good luck.

oh...come on now! I didn't mind when someone told me to get off this board and move to the classifieds...but putting down my brilliant gold brick? what a classic color---someone was posting about how they wanted a black sedan (btw i didn't see matt82 there saying "move to the wanted section of the classads" and I just thought wow, I wonder if he has ever seen a gold one? Seriously though you don't have to wash the vehicle every 20 miles for it to look nice...and what a classy ride...well, I'm gushing...can you tell I will miss my brick?
oh yeah, thanks for the compliment on swedespeed shovelfxr!

nice...not usually a big fan of aftermarket wheels believe it or not--I LIKE the "dorky" hubcaps, but I DO really like how yours looks with those wheels! beautiful...
thanks for the speakerbox compliment, I tried to make something simple that looked as natural and matched as well as possible...got lucky with the carpeting and they are easily removed if you need the cargo area
