Can you overtighten a tie rod end? 200

Ok, I replaced tie rod ends and stabilizer bar bushings and one of the tie rod ends when I was tightening it (with a torque wrench set to 50lbs) onto the steering knuckle just keeps on turning. If I start to back it off to see if the threads are stripping the tip with the squared ends start to round.

I'm going to have it aligned tomorrow and wanted to know if I was wasting my money because I have messed up the tie rod end.

Thanks in advance for your help!
