Techron: any opinions? 700

I got an oil change today and decided to try a bottle of Chevron Techron concentrate with a fill up of premium. I immediately or at least thought I did noticed my idle was smoother and engine seemed to overall run a tad better. Has anyone else had any experience with this stuff? Are there any downsides to its use? Thanks

    Techron: any opinions?

The usual retail price is about 5 to 6 bucks a bottle.
At Costco you pay 10 $ for 4 bottles.

I have used techron for many years as an injector cleaner. The only negative comments I have heard is, because it is so abrasive make sure you have a full tank for proper dilution and change your oil on schedule if you use techron. Never got an explanation on this one, so not sure what the oil has got to do with it.

Great stuff: it works. No need to change the oil afterwords.

I also noticed some improvements, cold startup was much easier afterwards, and the cold idle seemed a little better, too. I believe it was because the Techron cleaned the plugs off a little. I get the same effect from new plugs.

I am under the impression that most people say run a bottle of Techron through the system, and then change your oil right after it's gone. Is that what you did? I guess that is in case the fuel injector cleaner causes stuff to get in your oil.

    Chevron Techron

My Volvo dealer puts a bottle in with each service "need it or not".

I've put several bottles into my kid's '88 Merc and it seems to have cured a low speed miss, enough so that the car passed our state's dyno emissions testing with flying colors.

So I "think" there's more to it than "Marvel Mystery Oil".
