940 turbo keeps shutting off.. 900 1991

Hello I have a 1991 940 turbo ( B230FT ) It had a bad head gasket we took it ooff and foundout that the head was bad , we purchased another one from the junk yard ( from the same type of engine )we had it machined and clean , we put it on with all new gaskets and it starts but every time we give it gs it wants to shut off ???????? we discovered that we messed up the air flow meter , so I replaced it also ( with the same serial no.# 020 ) and once again the same problem is there :-( , I tried clearing the codes but within 40 seconds the check engine light pops back on ........... PLEASE HELP !!!

Volvo Lover 1991 940 tic 112,000 miles.
1982 240 270,000 miles.

What codes is it storing? That might be a good indicator.
