OIL RECOMMENDATIONS

I'm in Ohio and need some recommendations for oil weight and brand for winter. At the moment I am running 10w30 and am not sure if I need something different for the cold weather. It seems to be pretty much in the 20's during the winter here. Every once in a while it gets colder, and oftern it can be warmer.

Stick with what I have, or change?

Thanks
Sam

Switch to a 5W-30 synthetic blend (Mobil 1 Blend) or full synthetic (Mobil 1 or Amsoil or Valvoline).

You'll probably be fine with 10W-30. If you find that cold starting seems sluggish, you could try 5W-30. Any brand should be ok as long as you change it every 3k mi.
If you want increased performance, mileage and extended drain intervals, switch to a good (there are bad ones, even fakes out there) synthetic like Amsoil. There are several Amsoil distributors on the BB.

Thanks guys, I think since the car is high mileage and has always used dyno, I'll stick with it. don't want any leaks springing right now. Perhaps when it is warmer and I can bear to get out and find and fix the leaks, I'll switch over.
