Front Speaker Problem. 200

The front speakers in my 240 were replaced with Infinity's and the rear with Alpine. My question is that when the Pioneer head unit is on AM/FM the sound is fine, but when I play a CD the front speakers crackle so loud that I have to turn the fade all the way back. BTW, this has happened since the first day the speakers were installed.

Cheers,
Dan

If you had the system installed by a shop take it in, this hsould not be happening, obviously. to me it sounds like there is a problem internally with the deck. The built in amplifier on the deck should be translating the signal from tuner or CD exactly the same so if you're experiencing 'extra' sounds with the CD player it's the ehad unit. Take it in, I assume under warranty, and have it replaced with a new unit.

Just for diagnostic purposes, and to confirm whether or not I'm right, you might try wiring the rears as fronts and fronts as rears. If the rears crackle it's defenitly the deck. If the fronts still crackle it's just wierd. If it's the later then I'd talk to a stereo shop.

I'll try swapping the speakers just to see what the deal is. The deck that's in there was bought by my brother over 2 years ago so I'm not sure if the warranty still applies. He drove around for 2 years instead of going back to check the deck...stubborn punk.

Cheers,
Dan
