Cold Start - SOLVED! (new problem...) 200

Yep - Last week I posted about how I had neglected a cold start problem on my '83 245gl... the car ended up only running on limp home mode. I took the advice of my fellow bricksters - inspected the engine wiring - sure enough, crumbling insulation! I replaced all fualty engine wires with wires of coresponding guages from good old Home Depot - $22 (including zip-ties)

Cold start Problem Solved!! thanks guys!

New problem: During the first 5-10 minutes of driving after a cold start, sometimes the engine loses power (not dieing...) then I hear a loud "CLICK" or possible a "POP" from the engine bay.... throttle switch? Anyway, shortly after the click/pop, I get power again... any ideas?

THanks again!! You guys Rock!

It doesn't answer any questions, but it will give you an idea of what to look for. You're not alone in this, many bricksters have exactly the same problem. I believe that noise you're hearing is a backfire due to a rich air/fuel mixture.
