B21A engine 200

Hey,
I was just wondering, is the B21A ( carb ) engine a non interference engine or is it an interference engine?
Thnx for the answers.

According to my trusted Haynes, the b21a is a non-interference design. Yet another example of smart Swedish engineering...

Hey,

As far as I know, Volvo doesn't make an engine where the valves will interfere. I am living proof, having broken a t-belt on a B23E and most recently a belt jumping on a B230F with no consequences.

Happy Bricking!!!

b230f and b230ft are NOT interference engines.. I have cranked over my 91 b230f with a 11.9mm lift cam in the engine... the stock M cam is about 8.5 something.. with teh tbelt off.. and nothing has happened to the valves. Even with the gt6 cam.. 12mm lift.. the engine is STILL non-interference.
