242GT Value 200

How does one go about putting a reasonable value on a classic? I have a 1978 242GT that I bought new. It has received TLC during the past 25 years,is still all original, and a daily driver. I am at a point in life where it has become more of a chore than a hobby keeping it restored and am considering passing it on to another caring Volvophile. Anyone have any ideas regarding this?

Thanks

Les

Do you have pictures?

The hard part of selling a classic like that would be to find the right person especially since its insurable value would be significantly less than what you want for it.

I'd certainly be interested if you have some pictures!!! charles_thayer@ncsu.edu

Wow, a one-owner GT that is not rusty and may not need a paint job or other major work should fetch a pretty good price I would think, if the right audience finds out about it. I mean several grand, if it is as I describe.

Merry Christmas--have seen similar vintage volvos sell from 1500 up to 2500 here in NJ-where there is quite a bunch of volvo lovers. I would suggest selling your car on ebay as your car would get the most exposure. Selling on ebay isnt for everyone--nice pics are a must-but--Iv had the best results selling cars and parts on ebay--usually getting more than i had anticipated-and up to this point--havent had a deal turn out badly yet--good luck
