I have a hitch attached to my 240 and want to remove it. I have no idea how to do this. Help!

i took mine off with a socket wrench. six bolts and voila. perhaps a two minute job.

Back the car up on ramps, get under it and see what is the size of the
bolts that hold it on. Crawl back out, go to your toolbox and get wrenches
those sizes, get back under the car and unscrew the bolts and nuts. Should
come off. If any of the bolts were holding something else on also, put
them back and tighten them up.

I went to a local RV dealer and they removed mine for $25. You have to use impact wrenches to get those bolts loose. I had it sand blasted for another $10. With a fresh coat of primer and 5 coats of paint it should go another 17 years. Good Luck Brickster.

Is it a genuine Volvo bolt-to-the-frame hitch (or similar)?

Or is it a flimsy el-cheapo Midas style bolt-to-the-bumper hitch?
