Dear All,
I use 940 GL engine B230F. While driving in normal speed approx 80 Km/h, suddenly the car run sluggish and shaken. Then I try to rev up the speed but the knocking sound came from the engine louder. Then I stop the car and open the bonet, seeing that the whole engine shake like a snake while in idle. Once I rev the RPM the engine knock sound go louder. I decide to drive home but cannot too fast just able to drive at 2-3th gear only that seemed to have power enough to go home. Now the car run like the trackter pum..!.pum..!.pum...!. like a harley davidson bike...!!

What's happen with my car's engine.?
I think may be.....
1.The piston rod is broken
2.There is something wrong with the camshaft or valve
3.Flywheel.....?
4.Front pulley....seemed not the problem as I see.
5.Distributer...? Fire...only some cylinder..?

Any idea...for the right way to start repairing..

Problem found out...!
Checking compression found none in cylinder 1 and 2.
So decided to open the top section.
The head gasget had broken then the air compression leak in to each other cylinder.
And they fire on 3th and 4th cylinder only that make the engine run shaken.
Now I have break the engine and replace wearing out parts such as head gasget, piston ring sets and etc...
Hope it will come alive again...

Well now the engine is fix and the car ran fine. However seemed that the engine more heat than before but not too much. May be flatening the head surface affect this symtoms..? Not too sure.... The idle the engine shake slightly that I will check what's wrong again. All replaced parts are piston rings, head gasget, valve stem rubber, valve cover gasget ,water eye and other gasgets.
Consumption is approx 8 Km/ litre like before....that's acceptable.

This is tough to diagnose from afar. Could be mechanical, or related to a sensor or timing. Hints:

-check your timing (belt may have slipped)
-use a mechanic's stethoscope to try to pinpoint the source of the noise
-any coolant leaks or oil contamination?

Thank you Mr.Ringlee. Will check them by newyear next later days.
However I suspect that the flywheel could be loosen and that cannot balanced with the piston weight when engine running. Not too sure yet. Hope I have not to overhaul the engine with high cost.
