CEL light on again for fixed ECT sensor?!?

I replaced the ECL sensor and reset the codes on my 90 - 240 two days ago. Now the check engine light code for the ECL is on again. What is going on? Am I hurting anything by driving it? WHAT do I do now?

PLEASE help!

You need to solder the ground harness from the intake manifold. The problem is a faulty ground to the LH computer. You need to put star washers on the bolts and solder the crimps on the wires. There's an old tech note on this problem.

CEL light on again for fixed ECT sensor?!?

Chris,

Thanks for the info. IS the ground you are talking about on the engine directly under the 2nd and 3rd intake rails? If it is, it has a Bosch connector on it with a clip connector. I took it off and cleaned those pins and took the main bolt on part off the engine and wire brushed it. It did have some corrosion on it. However, there is nothing to solder on this ground. I wonder if it is the correct ground? I did read the tech tips on this, but it did not tell me where that ground is.

Any other info will be appreciated!

Thanks again,

Don

Pardom my ignorance - what, pray tell, is the "ECL" sensor?

It is ECT sensor. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor... I learned the hard way.
