MRSHA-

That big shrink tube you see is a harness cover, not a shrink tube. It runs from the alternator area under the engine front and then up to a point under the intake maifold where it joins the main wiring harness.

The big red wire from the alternator is the one that carries the charging current. It connects onto the terminal at the starter which also has a bigger red wire connected to the battery.

The thin red wire, and the thin black wire from the oil sender, both end up inside the gray connector that is mounted on the firewall. That connector can hold 8 wires, but you should have only four. They are the wires that go to the instrument cluster area and not to the ECU.

Look in the connector for the red and the black wires. The other two are a yellow, that goes to the engine temperature sender for the temp gauge, and a blue-yellow that goes from the starter solenoid to the ignition switch.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck,

Bob
