Engine and Tranny Mounts 200

I still can't get my engine and tranny aligned with the mounts. I put the mounts onto the frame and tried to lower the engine and tranny. The engine is shifted 1/2" to the driver's side.

I've replaced the motor mounts on my 240, 740, 760, and a friend's 960. They were all the same: won't fit easily, had to push the motor around, maybe take some extra parts off, drop the cross-member, and just generally a PITA.

Be creative, persistent, and vociferous. You'll get it done.

I believe when I did mine, I did them one side at a time and I took the bracket out of the car, put the mount on the bracket, and as I lowered it down onto the crossmember, I used a Spud wrench (pointy shaped thing) stuck it through the hole in the cross member and into the hole in the bracket, as the engine lowered, it traveled down the Spud wrench and into position. Try to get the hardware through and the nuts caught before the full weight of the engine is sitting on the mounts. this way you can push and shove a bit.
