Pint Job 200

I am getting a new Volvo, most likely an '85 sedan, which will need new rocker panels and has rust on the rear wheel wells, after I take care of these areas I was hoping to get the vehicle painted, in the same color it is. I was wondering if anyone could recomend a place in the Boston area that either specializes in Volvos or at least aquainted with them. Of course I would like something that is not too expensive. No Mako. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No offense Tim, BUT AVOID THAT CAR! I had an '85 (in Connecticut) and the body rusted off around the mechanicals. Not only do you live in the worst place in the US for rust, but mid-80'2 240's have an undercoating (water and waxed-based) which actually attracts and retains moisture! No similar problems with early 80's cars, or since '87, so I think it was an anomoly because of Volvo's philosophy of using environmentally-friendly materials. Besides, a decent pait job will cost at least $500. My advice: Find a late 80's 240 in the paper. Better yet...get a southern car (Florida best) for $1000-$1500 with a perfect body, buy a $100 Southwest Airlines ticket, pick up the car and enjoy some time in the sun before you drive home....Best of Luck! - Dennis

I was looking at cars in Arizon and in Florida b/c I lost my first car/love, an '84DL wagon, to a rusted frame. I was also hell bent for a wagon. The thing of it is that this is a rare car. It is a Turbo DL sedan that Volvo made for law enforcement agencies, it apparently has a unique transmission along with some other minor unique features, so I was trying to save this rare brick from perils of the harsh New England weather and salt.
