thanks for the input. I think I might look into getting the halogen plus.

THanks for the info.

If you have water in the light, chances are the adhesive seal is completely gone, and when you go to replace the light, the lens will fall off the reflector/bulb assembly. I've seen this happen.

If you replace anything, I would replace all. I'd recommend Sylvania Halogen XtraVision low beams, and Wagner BriteLite high beams. The Sylvania Halogen XtraVision headlamps are by far the best sealed beams I've ever seen; they are not only brighter, the beam pattern is dramatically improved as well. I couldn't believe the difference after I put them on my 744.

If you have a fat wallet you could go entirely to the Sylvania Halogen SilverStar sealed beams, available in high and low beams. They have the same beam pattern as the XtraVisions, but are brighter and very white (not blue, very white). I think at Autozone they are $15/light or $20/light though, the former mentioned setup are about $10/light.

You take care of that 745 and you'll have no problem reaching 250+K. My 764Ti had 270005 when I totalled it, and it had so much more left.

You can't take apart sealed beams. But they're only like $7.99 at any autoparts store. Replace them in pairs, or they're likely to set off your "bulb warning" lamp. I've always found the regular halogen 4-headlights on our '88 to provide quite adequate light. All you need to replace them is a phillips head screwdriver- loosen the bottom screws but don't remove, then remove the two top ones. Apply a little grease to the socket when reinstalling to prevent corrosion.

The Lamp Failure Relay does not monitor the high beams, only the low beams, brake lights, and tail lights. The high beam lights can be replaced individually without lamp failure trouble.

Guess I need to read more closely! SOmehow missed the word "high beam".... You are correct, sir. But I do know, that whenever I change just one light, my good old yellow "skull and crossbones" comes on til I change the other.... Oh well!

Try Replacing the lights with H4 European lights. They provide way better light output. Only drawback is the cost.

I would replace it. And replace the one on the other side at the same time so they are the same brightness. They are relativly cheap at any auto parts store. Taking it apart is probably more trouble than it is worth.
