145 Body Panel 140-160

1968 Volvo 145s project car rear-ended by hit-and-run driver. The car has been a daily driver for the past 1.5 yrs, has no rust, and only 110k. Looking for a lft. rear quarter panel. Any suggestions on locating. Located in Michigan, just outside Grand Rapids.

If you have to change the sheet metal surrounding the glass, a late model may fit, but 140's prior to 1971 had a 2 piece window. The front 2/3 was fixed, and the back 1/3 swung out. So if sheet metal from a 240 or late 140 fits, the cargo area side windows may not match.
Good Luck finding an early 145!

It's pretty likely that early 245 parts can be used as well.
Unlike the 144/142->244/242 transition, I don't think much of
the sheet metal in the rear changed in the 145->245 transition.

Just found this ad in our local (CT) Bargain news (www.bargainnews.com)

    68-74 VOLVO PARTS,
1 - 70 Sedan, restored and 2 - 73 wagons complete, one rusted and one crashed LF, $15,000 worth of new parts in the last 5 years, 20 boxes of new parts and 20 year collection of used parts, 30 boxes plus, package deal, ext. 23 work $5000 takes it all. (203) 937-4555 or (860) 345-3740 home (4X) eolsen@brooklace.com. West Haven

There are several other ads there with parts listings, and remember you can use early 245 parts too. I think anything before '78 will fit, since it's the left side. The right would have the gas filler and that would be different, not impossible to overcome but more work.
You tried the local junkyards? Between your rustfree parts and maybe a straight, but rusty quarter, you could get it back into shape.
    Good luck!
