Jackstand positioning 200

Hey people,
I`m setting out to do the front end on the 245 this weekend. I was curious as to where to put the jackstand(s). When I first took a look at things, I boosted the car with a floorjack on the reinforcement bar under the front passenger footwell and bent it slightly so obviously I can`t do that again. Actually I`ll probably do one side at a time. Any advice? I don`t want to bend anything else.
Thanks.

I jack my 164 and 144 on the floor just inside the box
frame but I put a block of wood between the floor and
the jack and then put a jack stand under that same piece
of wood (long piece of 2x4 scrap). I put the wood just
behind the jack support area and just inside the seam of
the box frame so it isn't *exactly* the floor but right
next to it.

I've dropped (let the oil out of the jack) a 122 onto
a jack stand on the floor -- it just dented the floor a
little bit but didn't seem to do much else. This was a
122 with rust holes in the floor too.

Volvos seem to be pretty sturdy...

I place the jackstands on the jacking points. They are out of the way there and
support the car safely. You can pick up the car on the box frame if you use a flate plate or piece of wood on top of the jack pad to distribute the load so it won't dimple the box frame.

Jack up the front by putting the floor jack under the front crossmember and then slide your jacks stands into position under the jacking points on the side behind the front wheel well. The same can be done on the rear by jack up on the differential. Good luck. Adam.
