Rear foglights 200 1985

Hi, I was hoping you all could help me with rear foglights. My rear foglights are out, I have no idea why? I was driving in the desert one night, I had been looking for a lost hubcap of mine on the side of the road. I notcied that if you held the highbeam lever w/out letting it go, that the lights would be a lot brighter, so I did it. I also had my rear foglights on. It might have been the same nite, or the next, but I noticed after that, my rear foglights were not working... I don't know if by holding the lever for so long had any connection to the F.L. to go out or not. I checked the fuses, they seem to be fine. I'm hoping there is a specific reason for these going out, I would appreciate any help. Thx everyone. Michael

The headlights are brighter when you hold the dip lever because in that position all six filaments are lit up.

The rear fog light circuit runs through the step relay so that you get fog lights only with the low beam. (Not so in later years). Whether you fried something, or it's just a bulb, I don't know. Does everything else work OK?

    Good Luck,

    Bob

Bob, It might as well have been something fried. All of the bulbs look good, so I was curious if it was a relay. The relay seems to be hard to get to and locate, according to the manual, it looks easy of course, but I'm still looking...thx for the earlier advice! Street
