spring on clutch pedal? 200

Looking at Bentley's (p.410-1), I noticed there is a spring connected to the clutch pedal, which, of course, is 'missing' on mine. Which years came with the spring and which years didn't? Or is mine really 'missing'?

thanks

My 1981 came with a spring under the car at the clutch housing. Easy to find. I don't think there is one on the pedal.

My recollection is that the under-dash spring was a late-model feature (1990+ ??). They did away with the spring down below on the throwout bearing arm and put one up under the dash.

My under-dash spring broke on my '91 and Volvo did not stock it, so I bought the old style spring and made a bracket for it to hook to on the transmission.

10 years and 150k later it still works fine. I replaced the clutch at 180k miles, but I'm still using the original clutch cable and it self-adjusts perfectly.

As I recall, turbos did not have clutch return springs.

Really? I'm missing one on mine and just haven't got around to putting it on!
